History

Our congregation was “planted” by the leadership of the old Main Street congregation in Shelbyville who wanted to see a congregation of the Lord’s church “south of the river”.

Land was purchased, a building built, and worship began at 108 Narrows Road in May of 1961. In 1969 an annex was built to house our growing Bible school program. In 2004 the house next door was purchased to serve for fellowship and prepare for future growth.

The Southside Congregation is served by a full-time minister, a secretary, 8 deacons, and 5 Elders. Our present membership is 150 strong and growing.
