Our Key Ingredient
Our Lord humbled himself to come to this world and die on the cross. Philippians 2:3-11 describes his offering for all humanity. Just as Jesus humbled himself and looked to the needs of others, we try to follow his example in all that we do.
Our membership is very diverse, with people from all walks of life. We serve with joy in the Lord. We are grace dependant and gracious. Everybody is welcome at Southside regardless of race, dress, or economic position. The Bible is understood to be the word of God and we have no creed but the Bible.
We are an autonomous congregation without allegiance to any man made board or headquarters. Our church family supports this ministry through freewill offerings. “Christ and Him Crucified” is sufficient for our salvation and the theme of all we teach and preach.
A Variety Of Ministries
We minister to young and old and all those in-between. Our seniors are respected for their faith in the Lord. We serve there needs and offer many opportunities for fellowship. Our youth program includes a variety of Bible classes taught by faithful Christians.
Our youth are vital to our fellowship. Young and old participate in mission trips, retreats, service projects, and fellowship outings. We are blessed with young families and just part of our ministry to them includes a “parents group” which meets each Sunday night. Southside is very “family friendly” and a great place to raise kids and grow your faith as a family.
Our Mission
Simply stated, our goal is for all who encounter our church family to grow their faith in Christ. The Lord issued the great commission to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. (Matthew 28:19-20) To be a learner of Jesus, a disciple, is our earnest desire and our wish for others. Our mission is local and distant.
We support a variety of missions and missionaries throughout the world. We teach locally through special efforts like Vacation Bible School, house to house visits. Each time we come together the gospel is preached and souls are encouraged to obey the Gospel.
Faith in Christ, repentance from sin, and baptism into Christ are all encouraged and taught at Southside. We want folks to live for Christ here and enjoy heaven when they die.
